House Party Shooting in Vineland Leaves Two Injured, One Critical

An exchange of gunfire in a house party in Vineland Saturday night, has two injured, one in critical condition, Vineland Police said in a release today.

Saturday at approximately 11:41 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Junior Drive and Edna Drive for a complaint of fireworks.  While in route, police received additional calls that there was a shooting at a house party located on Edna Drive, where one subject was shot in the chest.  

Upon police arrival the victim Adam J. Hernandez, 20, of Vineland had already been transported privately from the scene to Inspira Hospital.  He was later air lifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden.

During the course of the continuing investigation, police learned that there was an exchange of gunfire because of a dispute at the party. 

Witnesses said one of these individuals was in possession of a handgun and identified as Brandon Erazo, 22, of Vineland.   

Erazo was taken into police custody several hours later when he showed up at Inspira Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his leg.  After being processed, he was lodged in the Cumberland County Jail on warrants for attempted homicide and weapons offenses with a bail set at 300,000.00.

At the time of this press release Hernandez remains in critical condition.  

No weapons have been recovered, and Police are continuing to identify and interview additional party goers.
