PSE&G officials are investigating a power outage that affected nearly 250 homes and businesses in the Montclair area overnight.
Emergency responders and utility crews were called to a utility hole located in the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue before 1:30 a.m. after they received reports of a fire.
Upon arrival to the scene, crews confirm a condition that caused a smoke condition that ultimately knocked out power to the area.
The incident remains under investigation, and officials expect power to be restored this morning.
