DEVELOPING SAYREVILLE NJ: Second Pedestrian Today Struck, Killed by Vehicle in Sayreville

Emergency responders and rescue crews are on the scene of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle with fatal results in Sayreville.

Police and EMS were called to the northbound lanes of Route 9 near the Starbucks after they received reports of an injured person at around 8:10 p.m.

Upon their arrival, crews found the severely injured unidentified person laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive at that location.

The victim was pronounced dead by medics a short time later.

Police closed the highway from South Amboy to Sayreville for the investigation. This is the second person killed by a vehicle in Sayreville in less than 24-hours.
