Police today announced the arrest of two men who they say face weapon charges following yesterday’s shooting in Elizabeth.
According to police, officers today arrested 23-year-old Alfonza McLamb on the 100 block of 7th Street and charged him with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes in connection with Thursday’s shooting on Court Street.
Police said on November 15th; officers responded to the area of Elizabeth Avenue and 5th Street sometime around 10:41 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found McLamb inside Mara’s Bakery suffering from a gunshot wound to his buttocks. There have been no arrests made in connection with that shooting but the alleged suspect was last seen fleeing the scene wearing a gray hoodie.
Authorities said an accomplice, Alan Adamez, was also arrested after he shot at a parked vehicle which initiated a chase by multiple law enforcement agencies including the NJ State Police.
Police recovered the weapon after a concerned citizen turned it in then charged Adamez with possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes in connection.
