Detectives have established an accident investigation crime scene on Route 9 in Freehold as they look into a pedestrian strike that killed one person this evening.
The incident happened in the 3600 block of Route 9 -near the Burlington Coat Factory- at around 9:05 p.m. where emergency responders found the victim laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive after being struck by a vehicle.
The Department of Transportation closed off a portion of the road to investigate what cause the accident.
There are no other injuries reported.
