Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of a 23-year-old Englewood man accused of trying to sexually assault an 83-year-old woman as she walked to church.
According to authorities, on July 28th, members of the Englewood Police Department received a report that an unknown male attempted to sexually assault an 83-year-old female as she was walking to church in Englewood.
As a result of a joint investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department, Margarito Hernandez-Valladeres, 23, of Englewood, was arrested on November 9th and charged with one count of Attempted Sexual Assault, one count of Criminal Restraint and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact.
The charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
