Police in Irvington are on the search for a violent armed carjacking suspect who fired a round from a gun in the direction of the victim during the carjacking.
According to officials, the incident happened before 5:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Lyons Avenue and Chester a black male suspect approached the driver of a car armed with a gun and demanded the keys.
The victim reportedly began to run when the suspect began to shoot reports said.
The suspect then entered the victim's vehicle and sped away towards Newark.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries Township officials said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
