Police in Newark are reporting that members of the Special Enforcement Bureau arrested Mr. Yasin Perry, 21, of Newark, for possession of three loaded handguns.
According to police members patrolling the area of Allen Lane, near West Kinney Street, observed a man with a gun on Thursday.
Police said upon becoming aware of police presence, the man placed the gun, a loaded .9MM, in the undercarriage of a parked vehicle.
The suspect, Yasin Perry, was immediately arrested and found in possession of two additional loaded .9MM handguns authorities said.
Police charged Perry with three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapon Possession and Contempt of Court on an outstanding warrant.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
According to Newark Police, they arrested Perry on August 5th, for an outstanding warrant out of Irvington on charges of Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose then released him on August 10th.
