Newark Man Arrested for Illegal Dumping

Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Christopher Hanford, 35, of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping last night.

According to Director Ambrose, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed two men unloading a U-Haul truck of debris, including Styrofoam, boxes, large plastic bags and household items, behind a building in the 100-block of Riverside Avenue.

Upon becoming aware of police presence, the two men fled in the truck and were pulled over by police.

The passenger exited the truck and fled on foot. The driver, Christopher Hanford, was arrested and charged with Illegal Dumping and Illegal Transport of Solid Waste.
