A teacher of video production in Newark and his team of filmmakers from Bloomfield College were awarded one of a Pennsylvania film festival's top honors in movie/making film production this weekend.
According to a statement from officials from the Pocono Mountain Film Festival, **Producer-Director Mr. Les Johnson's a Newark Technology High School teacher and students from Bloomfield College** presented Forceful Purpose Episode 7 "Beyond Human" Sci-Fi film which took first place in its category at the Saturday evening gathering of nearly 300.
"For 14 years, The Pocono Mountains Film Festival has been exhibiting the work of up-and-coming screenwriters and filmmakers. Based in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, our film festival is dedicated to creating a beneficial platform for artists, and we are happy to help them make their dreams come true" officials said.
Mr. Johnson says that the film portrays an unorthodox reporter Reg Hollingsworth who frees a friend from confinement while holding a foe hostage. When the supposed foe suddenly "vanishes," Reg goes into panic and disarray, ignorant to the very gruesome details surrounding the disappearance. Still, he is soon to discover just how close to home this disruption in his dark experiment was.
A statement released by RLS Media Solutions Broadcasting Chief Operating Officer R. Smith, he acknowledged Mr. Johnson for his exceptional hard work and continued perseverance. "I have known Les for many years and respected his tenacity to do well in his craft. Les is a humble, business-minded, and respectful man who has lived to see television broadcasting change from multi-camera Electronic Field Production 3/4 inch (Umatic) tape recording days to where we are now in this tapeless society. I honor his cross-over from broadcast to film-movie making as a tool to give students at his high school and Bloomfield College students the very best".
Assisting Mr. Johnson in the making of this Sci-Fi film were: Lolita Flagg, Ju'Dayah Burton, Rob Huttleworth, Alan Broussard, Jo Ann Ashby, and Edited by House of Film.
Mr. Johnon is not a current faculty member of the Bloomfield College staff according to public documents.
Congratulation **Technology High School and Mr. Les Johnson** from all of here at RLS Metro Breaking News.
