There were severe injuries reported for two victims shot in a neighborhood in Newark this morning.
Officials at the University Hospital contacted police when two victims arrived at the hospital by private vehicle suffering gunshot wounds before 3:30 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, one of the victims suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is in stable condition. The remaining victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back reports said. Doctors immediately performed surgery on the second victim who is reportedly in critical condition.
Police set up a crime scene in the vicinity of 477 Springfield Avenue where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
