A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Neptune City this morning has detectives on the scene investigating at this time.
Police and EMS were called to the Rt. 33 near West Bangs Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian down at that location.
Rescue personnel arrived to find the victim severely injured according to preliminary reports.
The official cause of the incident is under investigation by Monmouth County authorities.
