Police in Berkeley Heights are on the search for the suspect responsible for stealing a vehicle in the city this morning.
According to preliminary reports, a male suspect arrived in the area and took a blue 2017 Mercedes Benz E300 from a location on Mountain Avenue before 7 a.m.
The suspect reportedly attempted to run over the owner of the vehicle during his attempt to flee the scene.
Authorities said the vehicle was last observed speeding eastbound on I-78 toward Summit.
There were no serious injuries reported.
