An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in Newark that left a 19-year-old man injured.
Authorities announced the arrest of Mr. Dawud Ingram, 32, of East Orange, who was wanted for a shooting that occurred on September 18th.
According to police, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to the 100-block of Irvine Turner Boulevard for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found a 19-year-old male suffering from gunfire after an alleged dispute ensued between two groups of males. The unidentified victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Dawud Ingram as a suspect in this shooting and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Police took Ingram into custody today in East Orange and charged him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
Mr. Ingram is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
