According to Plainfield Police, at approximately 7:40 pm, officers responded to the 400 block of Grant Ave. regarding a child that was struck by a car.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a two year old child entered the roadway and was struck by a car that was traveling on Grant Avenue police said.
The child sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
The incident remains under investigation.
