A police pursuit that began in Berkeley Heights ended in Irvington Township early this morning.
Officers attempting to pull over a black two-door BMW had the drive of the can speed away in the eastbound lanes of I-78 before 3 a.m.
Police followed the vehicle where a search of the license plates revealed that the car was reported stolen according to reports.
The driver reportedly exited I-78 then entered the Garden State Parkway where the car was last observed leaving exit 143 near Clinton Avenue in Irvington.
There were no injuries reported.
