An armed robbery that had suspects physically attack a man in Harrison on Saturday morning has police looking for the assailants.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. Saturday morning when a 45-year-old, male resident of Harrison was robbed near the intersection of South Fifth and Essex streets.
Police said, the victim contacted them and reported that a small black four-door vehicle pulled alongside him while walking westbound on Essex Street near the intersection when four black male suspects reportedly exited the vehicle then struck him in the face and began to kick him as he fell to the ground.
According to the victim, the men threatened to shoot him if he did not give up his belongings, but the suspects never displayed a gun.
The suspects took the victim's wallet that contained mostly ID and less than $50 in cash. Police said EMS treated the victim for minor lacerations to his face and elbows.
The suspects are described black males around the ages of 20-25 years-old who were wearing dark clothing.
There were additional robberies with similar modus operandi that occurred during the night in Harrison and other jurisdictions all appearing to be related.
Police said all the incidents are under investigation at this time.
