Police in Plainfield are investigating an incident where a child was struck and injured by a vehicle while offering a stroller this afternoon.
According to authorities, at approximately 4:50 PM, Plainfield Police Division responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Officers arrived at Seventh Street and Central Avenue and determined that a motor vehicle failed to yield to a pedestrian and struck a baby stroller while the child was occupying a stroller.
Authorities said a two-year-old child fell from the stroller during this low impact accident and obtained minor injuries.
As a precaution, EMS transported the child an area hospital.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured but was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The incident remains under investigation.
