Police are investigating an overnight fire that tore through a Westfield home killing one person.
According to authorities, firefighters responded to the Prospect Street home sometime around 2:46 a.m. for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival, two residents self-evacuated but a third person was later discovered dead inside the home.
The fire remains under investigation, but officials said it appears that the fire started accidentally in the first-floor living room.
It took crews almost two hours to place the fire under control.
The identity of the person killed is being withheld at this time.
