A 20-year-old Bronx man wanted for a shooting that occurred on August 7th was taken into custody.
According to police, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Newark Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 100-block of 13th Street. Arriving officers observed property damage resulting from the shooting in the area.
A 56-year old male's vehicle sustained damages from gunshots and a woman in the area located a bullet hole in a wall inside her residence.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Mr. Marvin Fermin, 20, of the Bronx, as a suspect in this shooting and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an illegal purpose.
Police arrested Mr. Fermin last night (Sunday) without incident.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
