County authorities are on the scene of a shooting that involved a police officer in the upper residential section of Bloomfield this morning.
Gunfire rang out in the 60's block of Greenbrook Drive before 8:10 a.m. sending police to the scene where gunfire injured one person.

The shooting happened near the Glen Ridge golf course and had officers from the Glen Ridge Police Department providing mutual assistance and blocking off the entrance of Broad and Long Gate.
Essex County Prosecutor's Office detectives arrived at the scene at around 8:52 a.m. And later confirmed the shooting.
According to Bloomfield officials, officers shot the man during the stabbing incident that left the woman in stable condition. The victim and the suspect were transported to an area hospital officials said.
UPDATE 9:42 am The Essex County Prosecutor's Office have confirmed the police involved shooting with additional information to come as soon as in becomes available.
UPDATE 9:44 a.m. Residents are saying that this was a domestic fight between a male and a female with the male armed with a knife inside the apartment.
