Newark Firefighters rescued three stranded motorist due to severe flooding on Frelinghuysen Avenue, the result of heavy rainfall from this morning’s storms.
According to Newark Public Safety Director, at approximately 5:35 a.m., Engine Company 19, utilizing a fire boat, removed two people who were stuck in their car along the Frelinghuysen Avenue corridor.
Officials said Engine Company 29 rescued one other motorist moments later.
Engine Company 10 searched multiple abandoned vehicles in the flooded area in which all the cars were empty.
There were no injuries reported throughout the rescue mission to civilians or firefighters.
