Guttenberg Police are investigating a stabbing that left a West New York man dead overnight.
According to authorities, on Friday at approximately 9:45 p.m., Guttenberg Police Officers responded to Rumba Cubana, a restaurant located at 6909 Boulevard East, Guttenberg, on a report of a disturbance and fight.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Antonio Bouza, age 28, of Guttenberg, lying on the ground outside of the restaurant with a stab wound to his chest.
Emergency Medical Services transported Bouza to Palisades Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:35.
The cause and manner of his death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Shortly after the incident, Reidel Carrasco, 22, of West New York, surrendered himself at the Guttenberg Police Department for his alleged involvement in the death of Bouza.
After an initial investigation, members of the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit arrested Carrasco. He has been charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S. 2C:11-3, a first-degree crime; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S. 2C:39-4, a third-degree crime; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.39-5, a fourth-degree crime.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate this case.
