An overnight shooting in East Orange sent a male victim to a hospital in Newark.
Police responded to the area New Street near North Maple Avenue at around midnight after receiving reports of shots fired.
Arriving officers found the victim struck by gunfire according to authorities.
The victim's injuries were reported as non-fatal.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
