The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force concluded a two-month investigation on Tuesday with three arrests and the seizure of $4,200 in drugs, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
During the course of the investigation, multiple undercover narcotics purchases were made from Aaron Carter AKA “GUNZ” of Hamilton. On July 25, 2017, authorities executed search warrants at Carter’s Gwenyth Way residence.
Two bundles of heroin were found during a search of the residence, along with 37 Xanax pills and nine bags of marijuana. At the time of Carter’s arrest, he was found in possession of 24 bricks of heroin and $513.
The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $4,200. A Chevrolet Impala and a Nissan 350Z were seized as drug proceeds.
Carter, 38, is charged with four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession with the intent to distribute. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to have him detained.
Also arrested during the investigation were Leroy Martin and Leteef Marsh. Martin, 25, of Hamilton, was in Carter’s vehicle at the time of the search warrant execution and found to have three bags of crack cocaine in his possession. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Marsh, 24, of Hamilton, was arrested during the residence search. He was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Both men were released pending further court proceedings.
Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
