Authorities from Harrison took a NJ State Corrections Sergeant into custody yesterday (Wednesday) and charged him with DWI .
According to Harrison Police, officers responded to a report of a crash that occurred at around 1:14 a.m at an unidetified location in the township.
Police said upon their arrival, a blue Toyota had rear-ended a white Ford box truck at that location but no one was physically injured.
While investigating the crash, officers reportedly observed that the driver of the Toyota appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities identified that driver as Mr. Michael Floyd, 43, of Kearny after they arrested him for DWI.
Police transported Mr. Floyd to headquarters and where he was asked to perform Psychophysical tests which he could not successfully complete authorities told RLS Metro Breaking News.
Harrison Police said Mr. Floyd submitted two samples of his breath using the Alcotest which confirmed a 0.22% BAC.
Mr. Floyd listed his employer as NJ State Corrections in Newark, when authorities offcially charged him with DWI. His Facebook page has him listed as a Sergeant.
Police issued Mr. Floyd a summons and released in accordance with John's Law.
NJ State Corrections officials were not immediately available for comment.
These charges lodged again Mr. Floyd are mere accusations. He IS considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The incident remains under investigation.
