Firefighters from several municipalities teamed up to extinguish a fire that ignited inside a favorite restaurant in West Orange.
The early morning fast morning fire happened at the Essex House Restaurant located in the 500 block of Northfield Avenue at around midnight sending firefighters from South Orange, Orange, Maplewood, Irvington, and Montclair to the scene where crews brought the blaze under control in less than a half hour.
A search in and around the property had firefighters locate an injured dog according to reports.
According to the company's website, Essex House is a unique and classic restaurant, nestled between the first and second mountain in beautiful West Orange. "The beautiful building recently underwent an extensive renovation to restore every detail faithfully."
The cause of the fire is under investigation by West Orange fire officials.
There were no injuries reported.
