A swift recovery of a vehicle carjacked at a Newark golf course on Monday has police investigating the incident and at least two other carjackings that occurred in the city.
Police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress that took place at the Weequahic Park Golf Course shortly before 8 p.m. where arriving officers were informed that two Hispanic males and a black male suspect approached the victim armed with a gun and an object resembling a bat then demanded the victim's vehicle according to reports.
The suspects took a green 2007 Kia Sportage with a reported NJ license plate number "A82-HPP" then sped away from the scene.
Police recovered the abandoned vehicle on Evergreen Avenue and Hanford Street a short time later.
At around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, two male armed thieves approached a victim in the 40's block of 4th Street and stole a black 2012 Infiniti G37 with reported NJ license plate numbers "H87-HJK."
The suspects sped away from the scene at a high rate of speed.
The final carjacking happened in the teens block of Mt. Vernon Place where gunmen took a silver 4-door Lexus ES 3 from a victim at gunpoint.
The vehicle has an NJ license plate number "R19-FTH" was last spotted in the area of MLK Boulevard and Spruce Street on Tuesday.
There were no injuries reported in any of the carjackings.
