Police in Rahway took 19-year-old resident, Mr. Edson Dorsainvil, following an investigation of an armed robbery that was reported on Friday night, near the 100 block of W. Main Street.
According to police, during that incident, the victim stated that the four males suspects robbed her at gun point who then fled into a house on W. Main Street. Officers from the Rahway Police Department and the Union County Emergency Response Team responded and checked the residence, but did not locate the suspects.
The incident was contained to one specific house, although nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Police arrested Mr. Dorsainvil today after officers spotted him entering his residence located in the 500 block of Bryant Street.
Police said Dorsainvil allegedly attempted to conceal himself in an attic crawl space as officers entered the home.
According to police Dorsainvil fell through the ceiling into the living room - right into officers' waiting arms.
Dorsainvil is currently being held at the Union County Jail on first degree armed robbery and related weapons possession charges.
These charges lodged against Mr. Dorsainvil are mere allegations. He IS considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
