A crash that involved a motorcycle on Route 1&9 in Elizabeth overnight has an Irvington man Fighting for his in a Newark Hospital.
According to police officials, the single vehicle crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway near Maple Avenue at around 10 p.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where they found the victim suffering life threatening injuries at that location.
According to preliminary reports, the victim lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected into oncoming traffic.
The crash forced police to close the southbound lanes on the highway for several hours.
The official cause of the accident is under investigation by Elizabeth Police.
