Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests of Mr. Christopher Rosario 20, and Guillermo Valdez 20, both men of Leonia, New Jersey, on charges related to the possession of dangerous controlled substances, namely marijuana.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Mr. Rosario was distributing controlled hazardous substances, specifically marijuana, in Leonia, New Jersey.
On Wednesday, July 12, police personnel executed a search warrant at 613 Grand Avenue, Leonia, New Jersey, during which Christopher Rosario was found to be in possession of over one pound of marijuana. Guillermo VALDEZ was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
Police arrested Rosario and Valdez were arrested without incident and charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances, namely Marijuana, in a quantity of one (1) ounce or more but less than five (5) pounds, a Third Degree Crime.
Police charged Valdez with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in quantity less than fifty (50) grams, a Disorderly Persons Offense.
Both men were released on their own recognizance pending a first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Leonia Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
