Suspect Sought for Breaking into Newark Department of Engineering Building

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help identifying suspects connected with two separate burglaries that happened in the city.

According to police, the first incident occurred on Sunday, July 9th, at approximately 6:05 p.m., where police responded to the Newark Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, located at 255 Central Avenue, to a call of a burglary.

Police said the suspect broke into the building is described as a thin-built black man, wearing a blue hat, white tank top, and black pants.

In the other incident, at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11th police said a male suspect burglarized a residential building located at Bruen and Elm streets.

According to police the man broke into the building and stole packages, and two bicycles is described as black, wearing an orange jacket, gray shirt, black shorts and tan construction boots.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from city streets.

Police said these investigations are continuing.
