Police have released graphic footage of the violent armed robbery captured by the gas station's surveillance in Summit.
According to reports, police were called to the Shell Gas Station that's located in the single digit block of River Road at around 11 p.m. for a report of a robbery with injuries.
Officers arriving at the scene spoke to the gas station attendant who told them a male - wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a dark bandanna covering his face - approached him and demanded the cash from the register.

As the attendant went to open the register the male suspect him in the back of his head with a large wrench. Then struck him a second time across his head, removing the cash from the register.
The suspect is described as a white male approximately 5’10 tall, medium build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, green gloves and a dark bandana covering his face.
EMS transported the victim - who suffered a laceration to his forehead - to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
The Summit Police Department is handling the investigation.
