Essex County authorities are investigating a violent stabbing that had a man enter an East Orange hospital early this morning.
The unidentified male victim arrived at The East Orange General Hospital at around midnight suffering critical injuries after he was stabbed at an unspecified location in East Orange according to preliminary reports.
Hospital officials contacted police who the victim told that shortly before coming to the hospital, he was in a conversation with a female when the girl's father brutally stabbed him for an unknown reason according to reports.
Because of the severity of the victim's injury, doctors at the East Orange General Hospital requested the victim's transfer to University Hospital in Newark where was listed in stable condition reports said.
Police searched several neighborhoods in the area for a possible crime scene, but it is not immediately clear if they ever located where the incident occurred.
Newark Police could not immediately confirm if the incident took place within its city limits.
The incident remains under investigation.
