Authorities in Newark are announcing the arrest of **Mr. Frederick Street, 24, of Newark,** for weapon possession yesterday.
Although Mr. Street has only ben charged with this crime and is considered innocent until proven guilty when he has his day in court, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said, at approximately 9 p.m., his officers responded to South 16th Street and 15th Avenue to a call of a man with a gun.
Director Ambrose said responding officers observed a man fitting the description of the suspect with a weapon when they arrested Mr. Frederick Street, at the scene and recovered the .40 caliber handgun.
Police charged Mr. Street with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
