Fatal Shooting of Jersey City Man Under Investigation

Police have released the identity of a 28-year-old Jersey City man shot and killed Monday.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 262 Clinton Avenue on July 3rd at approximately 10:50 p.m. for a report of possible gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male victim on the ground at that location.

The victim, later identified as Rasasim Foster, 28, of Jersey City, had apparent multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:05 p.m.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
