A property manager, formerly employed by the Pleasantville Housing Authority, pleaded guilty on Monday to Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition Only, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
Cheryl Bradshaw, 60, pleaded guilty before Judge Patricia Wild. The plea agreement calls for probation, restitution to all victims and permanent public employment forfeiture.
According to authorities, on April 19, 2017, detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit arrested Bradshaw of Marmora Avenue, Atlantic City, and she was charged with Official Misconduct—a crime of the 2nd degree, and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received—a 3rd degree crime.
The State alleged Bradshaw, acting in her capacity as property manager of the Barlinvis Apartments in Atlantic City, cashed 13 checks intended for 9 tenants of Barlinvis Apartments from funds provided by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to offset the cost of utilities, and kept the money for her own personal use. The total value of the checks was $826.00.
The State also alleged Bradshaw stole property of the Atlantic County Improvement Authority—a toilet seat valued at $9.39, and had the seat installed in her own residence. The Pleasantville Housing Authority terminated Bradshaw’s employment on February 2, 2017.
Bradshaw is scheduled for sentencing on September 8, 2017 before Judge Wild.
