A man found dead inside a residence in Newark has police investigating a homicide this evening.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activities in the 400 block of Avon Avenue before 5 p.m. when they found a man unconscious and unresponsive at that location.
According to Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the man was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.
An autopsy will determine the official cause of death but the incident will be handled by the Prosecutor's Office.
The identity of the man has not been released.
