Irvington Man Charged with Newark Aggravated Assault

Police in Newark are reporting that the Fugitive Apprehension Team has arrested **Mr. Keith M. Jenkins, 30, of Irvington,** who they said was wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

According to police, at approximately 10 p.m., Newark Police responded to a residence in the 800-block of S. 10th Street on a call of aggravated assault.

Police said a female victim told them that a male suspect pointed a gun at her after an attack at that location.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify **Mr. Keith M. Jenkins** as a suspect in this aggravated assault and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Detectives arrested Jenkins without incident then charged him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Terroristic Threats.

The charges lodged against Mr. Jenkins are mere accusations.

He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
