Police in Newark are investigating a road rage incident that had a man attack a woman early this morning in the city.
According to preliminary reports, officials from the University Hospital contacted police when a woman and a child arrived at the hospital early this morning complaining of injuries after being assaulted shortly before their arrival.
The woman reported that sometime before 4:30 a.m. in the area of Bloomfield Avenue and North 6th Street, her and a male, who was driving an unknown vehicle, collided.
The pair then engaged in a heated exchange of words when the man began to attack her, causing minor injuries physically.
The woman reportedly drove to University Hospital with the child where police determined that the child was not physically harmed.
A description of the suspect was not immediately released.
The woman was treated for her injuries then released from the hospital.
Newark Police are investigating the incident.
