A male victim suffering injuries after being shot at a location in Jersey City has police looking into the shooting.
Officials at the Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when the victim entered the hospital's emergency department before 4 a.m.
According to reports, the uncooperative victim made a statement to police that he was struck by gunfire in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Stegman Street shortly before arriving at the hospital.
Several police units searched the area for a crime scene, but it is not immediately clear if officers ever found ballistics at that location.
The extent of the victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
Jersey City police are continuing to investigate.
