There is a homicide investigation underway for a person found dead in a neighborhood in Maplewood early this morning.
Exact details are pending, but according to a preliminary investigation, residents told RLS Metro Breaking News reporters that sometime before 4 a.m., several police units were at a residence in the 60's block of Broadview Avenue for suspicious activities.
Residents observed one person taken from the house in a body bag a little over an hour after officers made it to the scene.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed with our RLS morning crew that a male victim was taken from a residence and that they are preliminarily looking into the incident as a possible homicide.
Authorities from the Prosecutor's Office could not release any additional details as of 7:22 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
