A violent attack of a man in a Harrison park had multiple police units swarm a park in the city and arrest several teens who were responsible for the assault.
According to authorities, the incident originated at around 8:25 p.m. last night (Friday) when a 67-year-old man from Kearny was robbed
while walking in West Hudson Park.
Police said the man was approached from behind by six (6) black male juveniles who struck him in the head, forced him to the ground, punched, then kicked him.
Police said during the attack, the juveniles searched the victim's pockets, stealing an iPhone and his keys.
Fast responding Harrison Police officers set up a perimeters around the park where they searched for the suspects based on the victim's description authorities said.
Officers canvassing the area engaged in three separate foot pursuits that resulted in the capture of four of the six assailants according to police.
Two 15-year-olds, a 16- year-old and a 17-year-old (all from Newark) were arrested, charged, and remanded to the county juvenile facility.
Police said the remaining two juveniles were identified through an investigation, but not yet apprehended.
The victim's property was also recovered and returned.
His injured were not serious authorities said.
The incident remains under investigation.
