Authorities announced the arrest of a Newark man and woman wanted in connection with a robbery and aggravated assault that occurred Saturday.
Officers responded to Palm Street near Tremont Avenue at approximately 1:30 p.m., for a result of an assault. The two female victims told police they had been robbed of cash and assaulted by a woman and man.
Detectives developed evidence that identified the suspects as, Sakeya N. Hayes, 32, and Alvin Wright, 27, both of Newark.
Detectives arrested Hayes and Wright today without incident.
Both have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of robbery and conspiracy.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
