There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that left a person injured in Linden overnight.
details regarding the incident are pending an investigation, but according to preliminary reports, police responded to the 1600 block of Clinton Street at around 1:10 a.m. after receiving reports of a person shot at that location.
Units arrived to find the victims suffering a gunshot injury to the leg.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital where his injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
It is not clear where the exact location of the shooting occurred or what prompted the incident.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
UPDATED 8:06am Authorities said at about 1:15 a.m. this morning , Linden Police units responded to the 1600 block of Clinton St on a reported gun shot victim.
Officers located the victim, a 23-year-old Linden man suffering a gunshot injury.
He was transported to University Hospital in Newark with non-life threatening injuries.
