Authorities announced the arrest of Sean D. Perkins-Halton, 23, of Newark, for possession of a loaded firearm and CDS on Wednesday.
According to police, at approximately 5:10 p.m., a concerned citizen reported a man with a gun in the area of Chadwick Avenue and West Runyon Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a man fitting the description of the suspect and observed him with the firearm.
Police arrest d the suspect, Sean D. Perkins-Halton, without incident and recovered the loaded 9MM handgun.
Police said Perkins-Halton also possessed 37 glassine envelopes of suspected CDS heroin.
Police charged Halton with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and CDS Possession.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
