An early morning robbery with reports of shots fired near Penn Station in Newark has police searching for a suspect.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Hamilton and NJ Railroad Avenue shortly before 5:15 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, a male suspect approached the victims armed with a gun and demanding personal possessions.
Witnesses said they heard a shot fired at the victim before fleeing the scene in a car, reports said.
Police are searching the area of a crime scene but has not located one at this time.
The suspect was described as a black male last observed wearing a hoodie.
There were no physical injuries reported.
