Police have made an arrest in an incident where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Linden overnight.
Authorities said the unidentified pedestrian was hit in the 1200 block of Est Linde Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.
EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital where they died a short time later.

The suspect reportedly sped away from the scene then crashed on Lingerwood Avenue in Elizabeth where the arrest was made.
Police have not released the name of the victim at this time.
