Newark Ironbound Dominoes Pizza Manager Arrested for Allegedly Lying about Store Robbery

A press released sent to the media by Newark authorities announced the arrest of **Mr. Bernard E. Johnson, 22, of Irvington,** for theft and filing a false robbery report yesterday.

According to Newark Police Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 3:22 a.m., police responded to Dominos Pizza, located at 51 Niagra Street, on a robbery call.

Director Ambrose said, Johnson, the restaurant’s manager, reported that two male suspects entered the store and stole cash from the establishment.

After an investigation, Director Ambrose said robbery detectives developed evidence that Johnson had conspired with a former Dominos’ employee to steal the restaurant’s cash and create a false robbery scenario.

Police charged Johnson with Theft, Conspiracy, and False Reports to Law Enforcement.

These charges lodged against Mr. Johnson are mere accusations.

Mr. Johnson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation is continuing.

The second suspect remains at large.
