A 36-year-old North Bergen man accused of possessing Explicit Images of Minors on his work computer, surrendered, police announced.
According to authorities, Tejas Patel's former colleagues at Fairfield-based dietary supplements maker reported seeing "suspicious icons" on his computer in April 2016. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office and township police were alerted.
An investigation ensued, leading to the seizure of Patel's computer. Technicians from the New Jersey State Police Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory reportedly discovered a variety of images involving minors engaged in pornographic activity.
Patel surrendered Tuesday and was being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility, according to police.
